The Battle
Finale
Part 2
The throne room was shaped like a long rectangle. Pews lined the sides of the aisle that ran down the center of the room. The red velvet carpet was going to be soaked in blood soon. Some of the figures on the gigantic stained glass windows stared down at those gathered. Others looked away, as if they couldn’t bear looking at what was about to happen. The light that filtered through them casted puddles of color on the floor, pews, and stone walls.
“I must say, I’m impressed you made it this far. It’s not every day I have a tough opponent.” The Southern King said from an elevated platform at the far end of the room.
“Too bad this is will be where you die.” The enemy monarch added with a smirk. A squire with a damp tunic handed the Southern King his helmet. The Young King didn’t respond, he just raised his shield and readied his sword. His enemy’s smirk was replace with an irritated frown, unsheathing his sword and snatching a shield from one of his guardsmen. The door closed tightly behind them.
The men gathered watched the two monarchs and each other, the two Kings glared. There was a brief moment where no one moved, until the standoff was broken and swords clashed. To this day it is uncertain which side moved first, but it is widely thought to have been the Northern King’s General who sliced the throat of a nearby King’s guard.
The two King’s met in a violent explosion, each throwing the rules of combat out the window. The Southern King swung his sword with a rested vigor, he hadn’t been fighting his way to the room after all. He hadn’t done much fighting himself, having left his men to take care of it. The King blocked the weapon with his shield, but only just barely. He felt the impact of the two pieces colliding roll through his arm and into his shoulder. His fingers were frozen around the strap of the shield and his sword hilt. He swung his own sword in retaliation, but he felt like it wasn’t as strong as it could’ve been. The weapon glanced off the Southern King’s armor creating a shower of sparks. Pews toppled over as men were either thrown into them, the Northern King stumbled as a soldier was thrown into him. The Southern King took this moment to strike and pushed his shielded body against his unbalanced opponent. This knocked the Young King to the ground, his sword fell from his tired grip and slid away. The Southern King was then on top of him, pining him to the ground.
The Queen yelled in frustration, the reinforced door wasn’t breaking easily. Her eyes landed back on the horse that had carried her here. She grabbed the animal’s reins and guided the mare to the door. Turning the horse so the animal’s rear faced the door, she commanded horse to buck. The mare’s strong kicks had the door splintered open once more. Her fighters poured in and opened the door fully, the Queen remounting the horse.
“Move! I must help the King!” She commanded, the fighters made space for her to ride the mare through the door. The horses galloping cadence faded as she rode quickly through the halls of the palace. Her and her King’s fighters worked on securing the palace. The Queen followed the bodies, confident they’d lead her to the Northern King.
The Southern King reached behind him and pulled out a misericord. He then aimed to shove it under the Northern King’s chin, but the younger man grabbed his wrists and held it at bay. The Southern King put his full strength into pushing against the Northern King’s resistance. The younger monarch could feel his strength fading quickly, the sharp weapon a mere half inch away from his throat. He tried to struggle out from under the older monarch, bracing his boots on the ground and pushing up with his hips. He tried to turn, but the pews on either side of them allowed the Southern King to keep his position. He was effectively stuck. All he could do was keep his grip on the Southern King’s wrists, push them back, and keep the blade from impaling him.
The Northern King’s men were powerless to help their King. The enemy fighters were blocking them from intervening. These fighters were fresh and the Young King’s men had been fighting for hours now. The General heard the a muffled sound, but it sounded distinctly like a horse’s hooves.
Suddenly the heavy throne room door exploded open, a chestnut mare flying into the space. The Southern King gave a startled shout as the mare reared up, front legs kicking wildly and knocking a few of the enemy fighters to the ground. The Northern King’s General threw a spear to the mare rider, the Forest Queen. The Southern King’s weight shifted just enough, trying to avoid being kicked by the Queen’s mare. This provided the Northern King with the moment he needed. He sat up and grabbed the enemy monarch’s helmet and slammed his own helmeted head into it. The Southern King fell backwards, dazed, but was able to get to his feet. As the Young King also got to his feet, he was rushed by an enemy fighter with a spear. The Queen’s mare intervened and grabbed the spearman by the arm and threw him to the ground. The animal continued to bite and strike out with sharp hooves. Her mount, the Queen, stabbed at the enemy with her spear.
The Young King faced his opponent once more with a sense of renewed vigor. He picked up a shield and barely had time to raise it to deflect the Southern King’s misericord attack. He couldn’t deflect the next strike and the weapon found a gap in the younger monarch’s armor. The Northern King backed off, red blood dripping from a gash to his arm. The Queen saw her King injured and decided she was done playing. The woman raised her spear and threw it with all of her strength at the Southern King, who was raising his arm to strike again at the the young King. The spear impaled the attacking ruler in the arm pit and deeply embedded itself into his chest cavity. The man stumbled, any shock on his face hidden by his helmet. Their enemy soon collapsed to the ground and was dead within moments.
The Southern King’s men ceased fighting once they saw their leader was dead. It was over.
-::-::-::-
Outside the throne room, back in the corridor, the King allowed his wound to be tended to by a medic. He ordered the Queen to be seen to as well, but she assured him she was unharmed. The King looked up at his Queen, who still sat upon the chestnut mare. He placed a hand on her calf, moving to hide the intimate gesture from his men. This act of tenderness would become his signature when she was horsed.
“Sir, we found his Queen.” A soldier appeared, leading a woman by her upper arm. The woman’s handmaids followed behind her closely, holding onto their Queen’s skirts. The Southern Queen looked stoic, she held her head high and didn’t show a hint of the fear bubbling inside her.
“You can unhand her. She won’t run. Will you?” The King asked, facing the Southern Queen. The woman stared back at him. He looked intimidating, his helmet made it impossible for her to see his eyes. She looked up at his Queen, trying not to look surprised at seeing a horse in the palace. They had defeated her husband.
“Will you be sending me back to my father?” The Southern Queen asked, trying hard to keep the tremble out of her voice.
“No. I have a proposal.” The King replied. The Southern Queen looked confused.
“I suggested to the Forest Queen that you be allowed to take over this kingdom. And rule as you are now, the Southern Queen. She agreed on one condition, that you enter into an alliance with the Northern and Forest Kingdoms. That you do not raise an army against myself or her. That you are ready to aid us in any way we need.” The King gave her the terms.
“And if I refuse? I am hardly in a position to negotiate. You’ve killed my husband and have me and my servants as hostages.” The Southern Queen responded. The Forest Queen raised her eyebrows, a small smirk on her lips. She didn’t expect the woman to question this offer.
“She raises good points, Majesty.” The Queen replied.
“She does.” The Northern King agreed. He did respect the position this woman was in. She didn’t have much room to negotiate terms.
“If you don’t wish to agree to the terms I’ve offered, I can send you back to your father or I can appoint a Governor here and you can serve him.” The King explained.
“If you agree to the original offer, we can revisit certain stipulations once I know your loyalty is assured. Don’t misunderstand. This alliance would go both ways, we would come to your aid as well should you need it.” The King explained. The Southern Queen looked at her hands, she did find this offer better than she had anticipated. She could’ve been executed as soon as the Northern King’s men broke down the door to the courtyard. Her guard had surrendered immediately.
“I agree to the original offer.” The Southern Queen responded, a small smirk appearing on her lips. She was free from her husband’s oppressive marriage, but she was also stepping into unknown territory. She had been trained to be a Queen, a wife, nothing more. She didn’t know how to rule. The Young King seemed to pick this up.
“Good. Of course I will make sure you have an advisor to assist you.” The King had decided this meeting was over. He was tired and yearned to find a bunk and sleep for days. The Forest Queen had one more point to make.
“If you betray us, I will not hesitate to burn this place to the ground with everyone inside.” Her King may be merciful, but she was not so inclined. Not after the hard fought battle she had just endured. Perhaps that’s why her men already called the Young King “The Bearer of Mercy”.
Epilogue
In the weeks after the battle with the Southern Kingdom, the King and Queen returned to the Northern Kingdom. They buried their dead, grieved the loss of friends and comrades. They helped rebuild the villages that had been destroyed by the Southern King’s men.
The King and Queen were married, their kingdoms were combined. The Queen become the King’s advisor in all things. She was who he asked when it came to matters of importance. She was who he expressed his worries to, and his desires. He was there to calm her, to reassure her. He always listened as she vented or expressed her concerns. He always made time for her. Their love for each other unwavering. He would trust her with the security of their lands, fighting by her side when necessary. She would trust him with making the correct choices, but she would always be included the discussion proceeding the choices.
Their alliance with the Southern Queen turned out to be profitable. They supported each other in hard times and celebrated together in good times. The Southern Queen turned out to be a natural at leadership once she learned to trust herself. The Southern Kingdom recovered and flourished.

DpxDc- Mythology is vastly different then the truth
When sealing Pariah Dark again in the coffin Danny didn't realize that the Infinite Realms decided that it made the two equals in power since Danny didn't shatter Pariah's core.
The observants basically declare since they are now equal in power Pariah is to be released, which in turn makes Pariah head directly to Danny who was hanging out with Sam and Tucker.
Danny gets kidnapped in broad daylight making all of Team Phantom panic as he is taken to Pariah's haunt.
Being dragged into the Infinite Realms Danny starts demanding answers before they start fighting through Clockwork's tower making Pariah and Phantom travel through ancient times.
Clockwork appears in front of the two ghosts enraged, with all the damage Pariah took from Danny all that it took was one strike from Clockwork to make him return to his core. Clockwork then turned to Danny before swallowing Pariah's core.
"Daniel this is as far as I can hold him off but be warned, since Pariah is king of basically the Underworld, you being in the same power scale will be seen either as another king or a queen. In ghostly terms you two are married."
Danny, rightfully horrified tries to return to his time only to see the world is very different, Amity Park doesn't exist, in its place is a place called Central City, the ghosts from the realms were seen as gods/titans with different names: Clockwork was Kronos, Undergrowth was Demeter, Vortex was Zeus, Ghostwriter was Athena, Skulker was Artemis, Technus was Hephaestus, ect.
But Danny kept searching for his family in this new timeline until he found Diana, Ellie's counterpart, freezing in horror as his clone/daughter/sister/cousin Diana calls him "Auntie Persephone"
I'm not good at writing my thoughts but since dc isn't consistent with the actual mythology I decided to mash Clockwork is Kronos au, Ghost Queen Danny au, and Diana is Dani au. Probably not going to finish this so... 🤷
